Welcome to the Transportation Division at the City of Berkeley, CA. We are part of the Department of Public Works.
The Transportation Division of the Public Works Department oversees citywide transportation planning, traffic engineering, parking, bicycle and pedestrian planning, and alternative transportation programs. In partnership with neighborhood organizations, community groups, and local business associations, our office develops short and long range policy recommendations and directs program implementation to support a safe, efficient transportation environment in Berkeley.
Installation of New Multi-space Meters - Beginning December 1, 2015 and continuing through March 31, 2016, new multi-space pay stations are being installed to replace existing pay stations (218). The installations
will occur in prioritized locations based on operational needs as set by Public Works Meter Maintenance staff. Installation of each pay station will take approximately 90 minutes. A new base plate for the pay station anchors must be set. In most cases the new pay station location will be where the existing pay station is located. [more...]
