Residential Street Sweeping Program
Please note: As a cost saving measure, Public Works no longer sweeps streets on holidays. When normal street sweeping falls on a holiday, the streets affected will be swept on their next regularly scheduled day.
Residential street sweeping is a City service that not only beautifies our streets and community by removing litter and debris, but protects our environment and keeps the storm drain system from clogging. Street sweeping reduces the pollutant load (leaves, pet/animal debris, heavy metals, oils, grease, sediment, etc.) to the Bay. In addition, material removed by street sweeping will not be able to block lines reducing the amount of flooding during heavy rainfall.
How can you do your part?
- Rake, then compost or bag leaves for recycling with the City's Plant Debris Management Program
- Don't sweep materials into the streets or along curbsides
- Remember to move your car on street sweeping day
You can find out more about the street sweeping schedule or overall residential street sweeping program by reading below.
The schedule is listed alphabetically by street name and increasing address range. Opposite sides of the street are usually swept on different days. Even numbered addresses are on the south and west sides of the streets. Odd numbered addresses are on the north and east sides.
