Scope of Work: Work of Contract comprises all work on drawings listed in Document 00004, List of Drawings, and the Specifications, including but not limited to the following: field verify and document the dimensions, sizes, and layout of tent cabins #6, #7, and #35; demolish and remove all wood members and concrete footings; backfill excavations from removed footings; reconstruct new footings; reconstruct new tent platform foundations and framing; for the City of Berkeley (“City”) Echo Lake Camp Tent Cabin #6, #7, and #35, located at Lot #7 Echo Lakes Rd, Echo Lake CA, 95721 and ancillary work in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Contract Documents.

A California “A” contractor's license is required to bid this contract. Joint ventures must secure a joint venture license prior to award of this Contract.

City will conduct a non-mandatory Pre-bid Conference and Site Visit at the site on Thursday, May 19th, 2016 at 11:30 AM. It is recommended that potential bidders attend this Site Visit prior to bid.

The Pre-Bid Conference will begin promptly at 11:30 AM at the Echo Lake Camp Dining Hall, located near the front entrance of the Camp just off of Echo Lakes Rd. Echo Lake Camp is located at 9100 Echo Lakes Rd., Echo Lake CA, 95721. Please note that as of May 18, 2016, Echo Lake Road is impassable to most vehicular traffic due to snow. Contractors may need to park at the Snow Park located along Johnson Pass Rd. and walk to the Site. A public restroom is available at the Snow Park. No restrooms will be available at Echo Lake Camp during the Site Visit. Please plan to arrive early if necessary as the Pre-Bid Conference will begin promptly at 11:30am at the site.

16-11006 - PRW Backstop and Chain Link Fence Replacement

Scope of Work: The scope of services shall include, but is not limited to, work similar to that presented below. The work will be conducted at two separate locations within the City of Berkeley. The project consists of the following items: a) the demolition, disposal and replacement of baseball backstop fencing fabric for Ohlone Park Ballpark; b) the demolition, disposal and replacement of baseball backstop fencing fabric for James Kenney Park Ballpark. See page 21 of the Specifications for the full Scope of Work.

California Contractor License Classification required: A - General Engineering or C13 - Fencing Contractor

Contractor shall submit all contract documents before Wednesday, June 8, 2016 by 2:00PM.
Contractor shall be prepared to start work on Monday, June 13, 2016.

16-11031-C - Hearst Avenue Complete Street Project

Scope of Work: The work to be done consists of sidewalk, curb and gutter, pedestrian crossings, bike lanes, transit islands, curb ramps, signal lighting, bio-retention area, and roadway improvements along Hearst Avenue from Henry Street to La Loma Avenue/Gayley Road within the City of Berkeley. See location map and plans. The work consists of constructing new sidewalk bulbouts, new concrete sidewalk, new concrete curb and gutter, storm drainage modifications, traffic striping, traffic pavement markings, disabled access ramps, upgrades to existing signals, installation of one new traffic signal, bus boarding islands, rapid repeating flashing beacons, bio-retention facility, new landscaping and irrigation, and pavement rehabilitation. This work includes, but is not limited to, the removal of existing conditions, sawcutting, removal of existing pavement, curb, gutter, and sidewalk, as required, cleaning of street as necessary, adjusting to grade such City structures as are affected by the work.

California Contractor License Classification required: A - General Engineering

The DBE contract goal for this project is 18.0%.

BUY AMERICA: This project is subject to the "Buy America" provisions of the Surface Transportation Assistance Act of 1982 as amended by the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991.

16-11052-C - James Kenney Seismic Retrofit

Scope of Work: Work of Contract comprises the seismic improvements for the existing James Kenney Community Center, new exterior work includes siding, sheathing, painting, windows, decorative fencing, and gate, complete upper lateral replacement, and removal of exterior ramp and replacement with stair; interior work includes new shear walls as needed for seismic support, patching of finishes at areas of repair, and accessibility upgrade of restrooms for the City of Berkeley (“City”), located at James Kenney Community Center, 1720 8th Street, Berkeley, CA, and ancillary work in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Contract Documents. Work to begin on or around August 17, 2016.
