Information pertaining to projects under construction.
The City of Berkeley will be performing pathway safety improvements along the Ohlone Greenway Path through Cedar-Rose Park between Virginia Gardens and Hopkins Street. The purpose of the safety improvements is to repair uneven path surfaces along this three block stretch and to repaint the pathway striping. Please follow this link for more information.
- Marina LED Pilot Project:
Scope of Work: The Marina lighting retrofit project will replace 75 high-pressure sodium (HPS) streetlights with LED streetlights at the Berkeley Marina. The project is expected to save an average of 50% in energy consumption and be virtually maintenance free for 15-20 years. The new fixtures will be mounted on the existing cobra head style light poles.
Location: The streetlight upgrade pilot project will be located at the Berkeley Marina from University Avenue, west of West Frontage Rd. and including the full lengths of Marina Blvd, Spinnaker Way and Seawall Drive.

- Bay Trail Extension to Berkeley Marina
Scope of Work: A multi-use path from the SF Bay Trail to and through the Marina
Cost: (Design or construction budget or cost, as applicable)
Project Status: Construction documents are completed for the first segment (along the south side of University Avenue from West Frontage Rd to the East Lawn) and windsurf access improvements west of Hs Lordships Restaurant. Funding for construction is needed.
Funding: Funding for the planning, design and environmental review was provided by the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG), the California State Coastal Conservancy and the City of Berkeley.
