The Berkeley Public Health Clinic servicing the greater Bay Area providing: Free to low cost STI testing & treatment, HIV Testing & counseling, family planning services & exams, pregnancy testing & counseling to teens and adults of all genders. Also will provide assistance with Medi-Cal.

 Birth Control

  • Emergency birth control should be taken within 72 hours
    after unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy
  • Also called the “morning-after pill”

  • Rapid HIV testing: A rapid test can use blood from a vein or finger prick.
    Results in 20 minutes.
  • Conventional HIV testing: blood draw and takes one week for results.

Who is the program for?  
Teens and adults of all genders. City of Berkeley Public Health Clinic provides services without requiring clients to be residents of the City. Clients do not need to be referred by a physician.

Cost for Services
Free or sliding fee scale based on income and family size; Medi-Cal and FamilyPACT accepted

 Languages Spoken
English and Spanish; interpreter services available for other languages

 Additional Information    

  • About STI and HIV testing:
    - A urine test is used for gonorrhea and chlamydia testing. Results take one week.
    - A blood test is used for syphilis and the conventional HIV tests. Results take one week.
    - Rapid HIV Testing requires a finger prick and takes only 20 minutes to receive results.
    - All testing is confidential, but not anonymous.
    - Assistance with referrals to treatment and care for people living with HIV / AIDS
