Support Services Division
This Division is under the direction of the Public Safety Business Manager Lynne Ohlson. These men and women are primarily professional staff who may not be seen by the community very often, and yet, they work each day to make it possible for our department to provide the community with an outstanding level of service. The members of this Division work in collaboration with, and support of officers, professional staff, a variety of other law enforcement, non-law enforcment agencies and other City of Berkeley Departments as well as a variety of other entities.
Support Services personnel perform a wide range of duties that include, managing the Property and Evidence Unit, management and operation of the Public Safety Communications Center, operation of the Public Safety Building, locating outstanding arrest warrants, preparing reports and other material for review by the District Attorney's Office, managing, preserving essential and confidential police records and tending to the needs and requests of community members and guests who visit the Front Counter.
