Our district is inordinately impacted by traffic speeding through neighborhood streets. We are the commute corridor for all points north, those coming and going on local streets and the freeway. Our office has been working with residents to install reasonably-sized traffic calming devices while allowing fire and emergency access. We are piloting some new devices. The good news is that we have a new director for transportation after almost a year with no one in that office. Excessive and speeding traffic is the number one quality of life issue in our neighborhoods and is definitely a public safety issue.
