Berkeley Police Department Investigations Division - The BPD Investigations Division was formed in September of 2010 as a result of a departmental reorganization. Captain Andrew Greenwood is the overall Division Commander. Most division personnel are selected for their assignments based on a solid work ethic, knowledge of crime in our city and skill at dealing with people before being assigned to one of the several individual work units. Their collective mission is to identify criminals and present prosecutable cases to the Alameda County District Attorney (DA) conduct other special investigations as assigned, identify and collect evidence, analyze crime trends, track repeat offenders, investigate fatal traffic collisions and enforce all traffic and parking laws.  [more...]

Berkeley Police Department  Professional Standards Division - The newly formed Professional Standards Division is comprised of the Personnel and Training Bureau and the Professional Standards Bureau and is under the command of Captain Cynthia Harris.  The Professional Standards Division is tasked with ensuring that a high standard of professionalism and excellence in law enforcement continues to exist within the City of  Berkeley Police Department.general  [more...]

Support Services Division - This Division is under the direction of the Public Safety Business Manager Lynne Ohlson. These men and women are primarily professional staff who may not be seen by the community very often, and yet,  they work each day to make it  possible for our department to provide the community with an outstanding level of service. The members of this Division work in collaboration with, and support of officers, professional staff, a variety of other law enforcement, non-law enforcment agencies and other City of Berkeley Departments as well as a variety of other entities.   [more...]
