Trees / Parks - The Parks Division maintains and manages Berkeley’s  parks, street medians and triangles, and the municipal urban forest .  This includes recreation buildings, pools, sports fields, ball courts, tot and school age children’s play area, and street and park trees. Berkeley's Municipal Urban Forestry Unit maintains existing City trees, primarily through safety pruning and the removal of trees that have died, are considered hazardous, or have other non-correctable problems.  Additionally, the Forestry Unit plants new and replacement tree and administers the Coast Live Oak Tree Removal Moratorium Ordinance.
