May 15th: Landlord Seminar (5:15 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.)
Landlord in Berkeley 101 - takes place at the Rent Stabilization Program office at 2125 Milvia St., Berkeley.
August 14th: Landlord Seminar (5:15 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.)
Landlord in Berkeley 101 - takes place at the Rent Stabilization Program office at 2125 Milvia St., Berkeley.
September 10th: Owning Rental Property in Berkeley (6 p.m.-7:30 p.m.)
This workshop is a crash course on owning rental property in Berkeley including a detailed description of the landlord rights and responsibilities. Among the topics included: common lease issues, dealing with security deposits, rent control, eviction protections and evictions in Berkeley, Berkeley’s interest on security deposit requirement, landlord entry, dealing with problematic tenants, addressing habitability problems, and utilizing mediation to resolve disputes with tenants.
September 18th: Tenant Seminar (5:15 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.)
Rights/Responsibilities on Habitability/Lease Breaking/Petition Process - takes place at the Rent Stabilization Program office at 2125 Milvia St., Berkeley. October 16th: Landlord Seminar (5:15 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.)
Rights and Responsibilities regarding Evictions - takes place at the Rent Stabilization Program office at 2125 Milvia St., Berkeley.
November 12th: Tenant’s Rights Workshop (6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.)
This workshop is a crash course on tenant rights. The workshop covers topics ranging from rent control and eviction protections under the Berkeley Rent Ordinance, to getting security deposits back, dealing with habitability problems, breaking leases, dealing with roommate problems, landlord/tenant mediation and petitioning for a rent reduction/refund through the Berkeley Rent Board.
