The offices up for election in November 2012 are Mayor; Council Districts 2, 3, 5, 6, Rent Stabilization Board (4 seats), and School Board (2 seats).

List of Candidates in Ballot Order
On August 16, the California Secretary of State conducted the random alpha draw to reset the alphbet in a random order.  The new random alphabet determines the order in which candidates will appear on the ballot.  Follw this link to the results of the draw - Random Alpha Draw - November 2012.

 Final Roster of Qualified Candidates
This Roster reflects the final list of qualified candidates for City office in the November 6, 2012 election.  Please contact the City Clerk Department if you have any questions.

Roster of Write-In Candidates
The write-in nomination period started on September 10 and ends on October 23.  In order for votes to be tallied for a write-in candidate, the candidate must complete the nomination process and complete all required forms.

Instructions for Write-In Candidates
All write-in candidates must make an appointment with the City Clerk to obtain and file the required nomination documents.  Please review the instructions and contact the City Clerk at 981-6900 or elections@cityofberkeley.info if you have any questions.

Candidate Filing
Candidate Filing for the November 6, 2012 election is now closed. Contact the City Clerk at elections@cityofberkeley.info or 981-6900 if you have any questions. 

Signatures In-Lieu of Filing Fee Period
Friday, June 1st was the first day that prospective candidates for City office could obtain signatures in-lieu of filing fee petitions from the City Clerk.  Each valid signature on an in-lieu petition reduces the $150 filing fee by $1.  The signatures in lieu perid ended July 26.
