• Families are seen on a drop-in, first-come, first served basis on the following days:

  • Tuesday 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM

  • Wednesday 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM

• All adult household members (18 years and older) must come into the office before the voucher is issued.

Required Documents

• We must have your portability packet at the time of your interview. We will accept it by mail from your current Housing Authority or you can hand-carry it. If you hand-carry it, the original seal must not be broken or tampered with.

• You must provide: Current proof of income (within 10 days) and valid California identification for all adults (18 years or older.)

Voucher Bedroom Size

• We will issue a voucher that may be a smaller bedroom size than what you currently have. You will receive one bedroom for the head of household (and spouse) and one additional bedroom for every additional two people.

• If you are receiving housing assistance for the first time, you will have a maximum of 120 days to utilize your voucher.

Transferring Out

• Participants with a voucher issued by Berkeley Housing Authority should check with your assigned Housing Authority Representative for eligibility requirements and information.
